Seat recommendation?
07/31/15 1:49 PM

Can anybody recommend a seat?

I'm 6'-0" 165 lbs, and after a few hours my upper inner thighs burn.

Thank you!

I have ordered a Corbin, have one on my 2006 and love it, hoping for more of the same for the new one. Also, you may want to consider lowering the pegs a tad, makes a huge difference in comfort says me. Will report on the new Corbin when it gets here in 2-3 weeks...

2013 ZX14R ABS, Red, Scorpion Serket Carbon slip ons, centerstand, Rizoma Mirrors, MRA DoubleBubble, Gen-Mar risers, Buell pegs, ThrottleMeister, GIVI V35, Corbin saddle, backrest and glovebox, Power Bronze Hugger, Radiator Guard...so far...

My bike came with a Tobin (now New Image) seat that was very comfortable but rather short from tank to kickup, and since I like to move around, I swapped it for something roomier. Got a C-14 Low Gel seat (made for the Concours with a factory part # by Bagster) but I wasn't comfortable on that either. Now I have a cut down stock seat with a Second Look cover a guy gave me for helping him with his brakes and I use a Roho Airhawk pad or longer rides. I cut the stock seat foam with an electric carving knife. Flattened the rider portion and set the kickup back an extra inch. Now there's no slope to send you sliding towards the tank and plenty of room to move around. The Airhawk is a blessing and will work with any seat.

I have used a saddleman (zx10r), Sargent (VFR800) and Corbin now on my ZX14. Every single one made was a huge improvement over stock. On the ZX10R I suffered the same symptom you describe. The saddleman seat fixed that. The only bike I have ever owned that had a decent stock seat was a KTM 990 Superduke.
